Montméat Maurel
2021
H. 8 cm ; D. 10,2 cm
White-pinkish cover on stoneware
This cylindrical Chawan with barely perceptible sides and a crackled pinkish-white glaze, was shaped by hands.
The paste is made of two clays collected in Dordogne. The glaze was fired three times with wood and is composed of oyster shell powder and a light kaolin decantation.
The bowl was taken out of the kiln during firing and cooled in the air (hikidashi’s process).
